Dental Implants

Titanium implants that replace both the tooth and its root, helping restore natural chewing while supporting the surrounding jawbone.

ABOUT THE TREATMENT

Treatment Overview

A missing tooth affects more than the look of your smile. It changes how you chew, can affect speech, and over time the jawbone beneath the gap tends to shrink. Dental implants are designed to replace both the visible tooth and its root, helping restore natural function while supporting the surrounding bone. At Luxi Dent Center in Antalya, implant treatment is planned digitally and organised around the needs of international patients, from your first online assessment at home to your final check before flying back.

A dental implant is a small titanium post placed into the jawbone to act as an artificial tooth root. Over a healing period of a few months, the bone fuses with the titanium surface in a natural process called osseointegration, creating a stable foundation for a new tooth. A complete restoration has three parts: the implant fixture, the titanium post inside the bone that you never see; the abutment, a connector linking the fixture to the new tooth; and the crown, the visible tooth, custom-made to match the shade and shape of your natural teeth. Because an implant transmits chewing forces into the jaw the way a natural root does, it can help reduce the bone loss commonly associated with missing teeth, and unlike a conventional bridge it does not require reshaping the healthy neighbouring teeth for support.

Implants can be considered in a wide range of situations. A single missing tooth can be replaced with one implant and one crown without touching the adjacent teeth, while several missing teeth may be restored with implant-supported bridges rather than one implant per tooth. A completely toothless jaw can be rebuilt with full-arch solutions such as All-on-4 or All-on-6 implants, and loose or uncomfortable dentures can often be replaced with, or anchored to, implants. Where a failing tooth cannot be saved, extraction and implant placement may be planned together. If you are unsure which of these describes your situation, a panoramic X-ray or CT scan can often help our clinical team provide an initial assessment, with final suitability confirmed after clinical examination.

Bone loss is common when a tooth has been missing for years, and some patients arrive after being told elsewhere that implants are not possible. In some cases, bone grafting, sinus lifting or alternative implant techniques may still make treatment possible. Where bone loss is localised at the implant site, bone material may be added and left to regenerate, which can add three to six months to the timeline. Where there is insufficient bone height in the upper back jaw, a sinus lift gently raises the sinus membrane so graft material can be placed beneath it. Where bone loss is widespread in a toothless jaw, angled placement used in All-on-4 or All-on-6 treatment makes use of the strongest available bone and may reduce the need for grafting. Your scan and examination tell us which of these, if any, applies to you before you book a flight.

Luxi Dent Center works with Osstem implant systems, selected for their documented clinical track record and the worldwide availability of components, which matters for any adjustments your local dentist may make in future. Single implants are typically completed with zirconia or all-ceramic crowns, selected according to the clinical and aesthetic requirements of the case, while full-arch cases are finished with a fixed bridge designed using CAD/CAM technology. Treatment for international patients is organised in two short visits to Antalya, with healing completed at home: online assessment and planning take a few days, the first visit for scanning, surgery and temporary teeth usually takes three to five days, osseointegration then continues at home for three to six months, and the second visit for the final crowns or bridge takes around four to five days. Most patients spend roughly a week to ten days in Antalya across both visits, although cases involving extractions, grafting or full-arch work may need slightly longer stays, confirmed in your written plan.

The first days after implant surgery are usually easier than patients expect. Mild swelling, bruising or tenderness is normal and managed with prescribed medication and cold compresses, and most people return to everyday activities within one to two days. During healing it helps to stick to soft, lukewarm foods at first and chew on the opposite side, to follow the hygiene instructions we give you, and to avoid smoking and alcohol, which can slow bone healing. You can contact us about anything that concerns you, remotely if you are already home. Once the final restoration is in place, an implant is cared for like a natural tooth with daily brushing, cleaning between teeth and routine check-ups. Implants are designed as a long-term solution, and their lifespan depends on oral hygiene, gum health, smoking, bite forces and regular professional maintenance; the crown may require maintenance or replacement over time depending on material, use and oral care. Your own dentist can carry out routine maintenance, and we provide complete records and implant documentation to make that seamless.

The overall cost of treatment depends on the implant system chosen, the number of implants and the type of final restoration, whether a single crown, a bridge or a full arch. Preparatory procedures such as extractions, bone grafting or a sinus lift are priced separately and itemised in your preliminary quote. Treatment in Antalya is typically more affordable than comparable private treatment in the UK or Western Europe, largely due to lower clinical operating costs. Because no two cases are identical, we prepare an itemised preliminary quote after reviewing your photos and X-ray, and your final treatment plan and pricing are confirmed after your clinical examination in Antalya, so you know exactly what is included at every stage. Most of your planning happens before you board a plane: after your online assessment you receive a written preliminary treatment plan and a schedule for both visits, our team can assist with hotel recommendations and airport transfers, and appointments are arranged around your travel dates. Antalya's international airport has direct flights from most major UK and European cities, many patients combine the second, lighter visit with a short holiday, and throughout healing you remain in direct contact with our clinical team.

PROCESS

How the Process Works

1

Online assessment

You send recent photos and, if available, an X-ray or CT scan, and our clinical team reviews your case and sends a written preliminary treatment plan with no obligation.

2

Examination and imaging

On arrival in Antalya, your bone volume, nerve positions and sinus anatomy are assessed with panoramic and, where clinically indicated, 3D CT imaging, and your plan is confirmed or refined face to face.

3

Implant placement

The implant is placed under local anaesthesia in a sterile surgical environment, and you return to your hotel the same day.

4

Temporary restoration

Where clinically appropriate, a temporary tooth or bridge is fitted so you do not leave Antalya with a visible gap.

5

Osseointegration at home

The implant fuses with your jawbone over typically three to six months while you continue normal life, with our coordinators available remotely throughout.

6

Final restoration

On your second visit, over around four to five days, your permanent crown or bridge is fitted, your bite is checked and fine-tuned, and you leave with your finished result and full treatment records.

FAQ

Common Questions

The cost depends on the implant system, the number of implants, the type of final restoration and any preparatory procedures such as extractions, bone grafting or a sinus lift. We prepare an itemised preliminary quote after reviewing your photos and X-ray, and the final price is confirmed after your clinical examination in Antalya.

The procedure is performed under local anaesthesia, so patients generally do not feel pain during placement, although pressure or vibration may be noticed. Mild soreness for a few days afterwards is normal and well controlled with standard painkillers.

Implants are designed as a long-term solution. Their lifespan depends on oral hygiene, gum health, smoking and regular maintenance, and the crown may need renewal over time due to normal wear.

Usually three to five days for the first visit and four to five days for the second, with a healing period of typically three to six months at home in between.

Age alone does not usually determine suitability. Gum condition, bone quality and general health matter more, and patients are assessed individually.

In some cases, yes. Bone grafting, sinus lifting or angled full-arch techniques such as All-on-4 may make treatment possible. A CT scan, clinical examination and medical history review are needed to determine whether treatment is suitable in your case.

In selected cases with favourable bone quality, immediate loading may be possible. For most patients, allowing the implant to fuse with the bone first is the more predictable route, which is why treatment is planned over two visits.

You can reach our clinical team directly for a remote review, and any qualified dentist in your home country can carry out routine care using the treatment records and implant documentation we provide.

Implant treatment can be carried out safely in Turkey when it is provided by a licensed clinic, qualified clinicians and certified implant systems. Luxi Dent Center operates under Turkish Ministry of Health licensing, and we encourage every patient to review a clinic's licensing, protocols and aftercare arrangements before deciding.

Communication, appointment planning and process follow-up are provided in Turkish, English, German and Russian. We also share guidance on airport–hotel–clinic transfers and accommodation.

A preliminary assessment can be made from your dental photos and panoramic X-ray if available; the definitive treatment plan is finalized after a clinical examination.

The duration varies by procedure type and individual case; a personalized treatment and accommodation schedule is shared during the initial consultation.
